WIll Marines die if all you did was a little touchy touchy that one time in band camp ??

As usual, I don't even get the logic.

The Senator seems to be saying that there are some Marines who are bigoted and prejudiced enough against gay or lesbian individuals that these feelings will upset them so much that they will end up dead? Not from the prejudice, I assume, but from being so distressed that they aren't careful or fierce or something?

I suppose you're right. Just comes down to "because I think it's icky."
