yes, yes..... boogers have been eaten on both sides...

Rick
: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
[aloud]
Captain Renault: Everybody out at once!

Kids get drunk at the Georgia - Florida game in Jacksonville every year. Stop the freaking presses!

The wake up headline of the Atlanta paper this morning :

UF president seeks to curb alcohol sales at UGA-Florida game

"University of Florida president J. Bernard Machen wants to cut the number of places alcohol is sold at the annual football game against Georgia in Jacksonville.
The Florida Times-Union reported Machen sent a letter earlier this week to Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton requesting more city investment in curbing binge drinking at the game once popularly known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party."
the rest of the story...

Now to anyone reading this who is not from the Atlanta - Athens area, no it is not uncommon for a football game played in late October to be the headline story in early July, it's our religion, and this game is one of our high holy days.

One of the things the President of The University of Florida wants to do it ban " shot" sales at The Landing there in Jax . A little bit of an over reach on his part, and just a little bit funny. I have not been down there in 100 years, it is MUCH to rowdy and out of control for me , now that I am old, but.. I am thinking that it was pretty much the exact back in the day. Just funny that any University president would poke such a hornets nest...

People will not get fired up over some silly political situation, but how dare you tinker with the Georgia - Florida game!
