"Steven Tolleson homered in the third inning, then won the game with a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth as the Rochester Red Wings edged the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 4-3 tonight at Frontier Field.
The Wings struck first when Tolleson drilled a one-out homer to left in the third inning. But former Red Wing Terry Tiffee ripped a pitch from starter Philip Humber over the wall in right-center for a two-run shot in the sixth.
Another run scored that inning on a single by J.J. Furmaniak and an error on Tolleson, who let the ball play him in left.
Rochester cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly by Danny Valencia.
In the bottom of the ninth, pinch-hitter David Winfree led off with a single and he moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Matt Macri. Jason Pridie singled to right, with Winfree holding up at third, and Tolleson smashed a 2-0 pitch off Jack Taschner to right-center for the game-winning hit.
The Red Wings were in danger of falling six games under .500 for the first time this season. Instead, they improved to 51-55."
