MAD MEN

I , at last, get it.

Watching MAD MEN was the piece of the puzzle that was missing. 

Your Daddies had SO MUCH MORE FUN that you will ever have! They got to booze it up all day, ogle their Secretaries in tight skirts, go home and ignore their wives and children. Oh yeah, and they ruled the world. The universe belong to powerful straight white guys. You missed the party, there for you are pissed off.  So this, Joe Wilson's little House of Commons minute, was the paper tigers last hurrah. Sitting there, watching a young BLACK man and some botoxed San Francisco CHICK, and some in-touch-with-his-feelings hair plugged dude from ... Delaware? Forcing you to sit there, and watch these , duly elected , usurpers, sit in those seats where so many brave white southern men had sat, was just more than you could handle. You popped.

Now, your anger was totally misguided and what you were screaming about in your little second grade tantrum was false. The Democratic plan specifically says " No undocumented people will get any government run health care" BUT, as with this entire debate, and really, your entire world view : FACTS DO NOT MATTER.  You are MAD, you have the tea party crowd to back you up with pumping Trace Adkins bad country music and Sean Hannity out on the road to support you! 

This is the decision that we as a country get to make. The two sides have never been more clearly defined. One one side you have the clear and rational voice of President Barack Obama and on the other, you have the brand new face of the opposition ,the petulant angry NO!, NO!, NO! ( foot stomping, lay down and kick in the cereal aisle in the piggley wiggley ) voice of Congressman Joe Wilson. Screaming from the back benches of the House of Representatives, " YOU LIE " to the President of the United States.

A sidebar here, since last night , the man running against Rep. Wilson, in the South Carolina Second race , a Mr. Rob Miller has raised over a hundred thousand dollars online, and the money keeps pouring in. He only lost by eight points last go round, so good job Mr. Wilson.

Sidebar two : Bubbles.

I live in one, most of us do.

 Mine is WAY liberal, Congressman supports single payer, ecstatic to have Hillary as our Senator, Kum-bah-ya- God is love Christian, would you like another plate of supper?, DailyKos/joemygod/pamspaulding/huffingtonpost/NYT bubble. BUT , I watch a little Fox News, I read Drudge and Malkin... I know the latest Billo rant. 

Not so much the other side. Several times over the last few months I have heard angry white guys use the word EVERYONE ( or close to it ). At our town hall meeting an A.W.G. stood up and said in his little country club logo polo that " I do not know ANYONE that does not have good heath care" and AND, he was telling the truth, he didn't. Then just today on the facebook a friend from Winder posted something about Joe Wilson and got the response of " he was only saying what EVERYONE was thinking....."  That is just it. In their world everyone does think like that.. or at least would not say different. 

The coffee is on guys... wake up and smell it.......

UPDATE : Rob Miller is now, 3:45 pm up THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND dollars from last night. Dang... we should have had more cameras at the town hall meetings!
