LD 1020 - Marriage Equality.

I am watching the Maine House of Representatives live on the web. These are some crazy folks... Maine is a funky place. So, very hard core New England , but also so very much their own people.. Mainers.

You can just tell when someone stands up the way they are going to vote. 

Was their debate like this in the late 60's in the South? Did old white men stand up in Atlanta and Montgomery and Tallahassee and Jackson and say things about God and natural law and such?

"If God had meant for the races to mix, why did he put them on different continents?" 

I'll update this as it goes on....

 

IT PASSED.. and now on its way to the Governor... not sure what he will do. 

ALSO: DC now , just like NEW YORK. recognizances ALL out of district marriages.
