New York state is ungovernable. Not an opinion, but a fact. OK, maybe a bit harsh.
New York state is ungovernable by the entrenched , seriously, idiotic men and women that reside in Albany.
I am sure that most of the gay blog-o-sphere is all twisted into a pretzel this morning because same sex marriage in New York state is dead right now. Not as horrible as it sounds, NY State recognizes all out of state/country marriages. Sure , its harder to get into Canada these days, but ALL of NEW ENGLAND has marriage Equality! Hop on that MTA train, hit a justice of the peace , come home married. Maybe a nice lunch, a little antiquing.
I am more upset over the fact that this state has some VERY SERIOUS problems , the Wall Street crash has devastated New York financially, and the thugs at the State Capitol are playing games, and I mean that literally. At one point yesterday, the then tiny Democrat majority turned out the lights on the raging argument on the floor of the New York Senate. Fingers in ears.. la, la, la...
No one is really sure exactly what happened yesterday , even the major players don't know what is going on. BUT, at some point the GOP made a motion to have a leadership vote RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, quick like a little bunny! Two SERIOUSLY FLAWED Democratic Senators , stood up and voted YES. Not stitching parties, just voting with the GOP, for new leadership. Maybe. The two would be Republicans are from Queens and the Bronx. One of them is going to jail for cutting up his girl-friend, the other is under indictment for stealing money from a non profit that he set up. They are bad, bad men, and the GOP is welcome to them.
The Governor has called this a “dysfunctional wreck.”, and it truly is. Albany needs some REAL change. A pox on both their houses, and out with them all, there in the Senate. I hope this really is the rallying cry for the next election.
