Lucy, Charlie Brown, Football.....

As I have many times stated here in the k+b, the New York State Legislature is just a gaggle of fools and clowns. The only two states that I really know a lot about are New York and Georgia. It says A LOT when the good old boys under the gold dome in Atlanta look like Rhode Scholars compared to some of the empty suits that haunt the Rockefeller fantasy there in Albany. That said, lets hope for the best on this one:

From my new best blog buddies over at the Towleroad :

New York Governor says marriage equality will pass in the coming weeks.

Our embattled Governor, (who I for one just love, but I am way in the minority) spoke at last nights Empire State Pride Agenda dinner :

"Paterson said he expects the state Senate to give the measure final legislative approval in weeks ahead and then he will sign it, making New York the seventh state to legalize same-sex marriage. Paterson can't force the Senate to take up the bill and admitted to reporters he can't guarantee its approval, but he says he's now confident it will pass, as advocates and sponsors of the bill in Albany have been quietly working to build support. The bill was blocked by a summer coup in the Senate in the final days of the regular session in June. The Democrat-led Assembly has already passed the measure. Paterson's statements Thursday came at the fall dinner in Manhattan of the influential gay rights group Empire State Pride Agenda. He said New York will have marriage equality 'as a result of a law we will pass in the New York Senate, already passed in the Assembly, and will be signed by the governor, just in the next few weeks.'"

This has been such a roller coaster for all of us fighting so hard here in New York State. It really did come down to two , seriously mentally ill legislators from the outer boroughs that stopped it this Spring. Our entire state house just broke down into a school yard brawl earlier this Summer, so let's hope that some adult minds have at last taken over and they can get this over with.

and for no reason at all really, a cute picture of us:

Hey, I love the picture of my friends. I've been on vacation and just back home yesterday so today I'm catching up on the Kyle+blog. The leaves were also spectacular as we were leaving Gatlinburg on Saturday. Should peak in my back yard by the end of this week.
