"U.S. Rep. Paul Broun is helping hunters who share his love of big game to import polar bear trophies to the United States.

Broun is co-sponsoring a bill that would allow 41 hunters to bring the heads and hides of polar bears they shot in Canada to the United States despite a ban on importing trophies of the threatened species.
The Athens Republican once was a lobbyist for Safari Club International and is well-known for his collection of big-game trophies, including a lion, a brown bear and a cape buffalo.
The bill would set a dangerous precedent by creating a loophole for hunters who tried to skirt a 2008 ban on importing polar bear trophies, said Michael Markarian, president of the Humane Society Legislative Fund."

No, this is not from The Onion, its real. He wants to kill MORE Polar Bears. The ice caps are shrinking, the bears are getting more and more rare... and this enlightened man, wants the country to lift the ban??

A little sidebar on Rep. Broun. He like most members of the House held his little dog and pony show of Health Care Town Meetings all over his district BUT, held out until the VERY last minutes to hold one in the bright blue spot that Athens is .He tried his best NOT to hold one. This man is a DISGRACE to Georgia.
