Or "Mr. Massa Goes to Washington."

My Ex-Congressman , as of yesterday afternoon , Eric Massa, went over to the dark side today, for a full hour on The Glenn Beck Comedy Hour. I have now watched the whole thing twice, and still .. not exactly sure what happened. BUT Glen Beck was left farblondzhet and apologizing for the entire show. Really.

I proudly voted for Mr. Massa, twice! ( he lost the first go round to a bad, bad 1978 era white man afro..) but won in a VERY GOP leaning district. Mostly on President Obama's coat tails, but in the end, he was very much not ready for his close up down in Washington. I believe he was just overwhelmed by the process. He did have a cancer scare over the Holidays, and then came all the scuttlebutt about ... well, his post Navy antics.

I don't care if he is gay. I don't care if he is bi-sexual. I don't care if he just likes giving reach arounds and the occasional tickle fight with the boys. I was at a very small reception with him once and he could not have been more pro marriage equality, so what he does in the privacy of his own life is .. his business. There are some ODD stories... but, you know, so what? Sexual harassment can be so many things, and he admits that the things he did were wrong..... tiny bit creepy, but...not the end of the world.

The health care circus. Congressman Massa voted against the current bill in the house, because IT DID NOT GO FAR ENOUGH. I wrote somewhere on here of our trip to the " town hall meeting" with our Congressman. He is now and was then for a full out Canadian single payer system. I do not think that he would have been in any case, the deciding vote in the House. Now it does not matter. BUT the exact opposite of everything that the Beckites want . Odd choice of venues?

THE SHOW

Glen Beck is a self aggrandizing, recovering alcoholic, new Mormon, ex shock jock buffoon, with serious Messianic delusions. Click on the above link if you want to watch it. Seriously, Eric hangs old Glen up, he does not know if he show flit or fly. Ideas are expressed on his show that are NEVER mentioned on the Fox News Network. It is sort of, the kind of thing that is NEVER seen on television any more. Two people with VERY opposite views ,just talking. Not getting anywhere, but at least talking without yelling at one another.

Crazy Glen is begging Eric Massa to dish some dirt on ANYBODY in the Obama White House, and it just does not happen, MUCH to his chagrin. Glen Beck ends the show by apologizing to his audience for wasting their hour! Hard core fun reality tv for us C-SPAN types, a little bit of a right wing train wreck.

I still like Eric Massa, late night straight boy tickle fights and all. He just seems like a nice guy who was not at all cut out for the rough and tumble world of Washington DC 2010. The money, the ass kissing that a freshman congressman HAS to do, on and on. I wish him well , in his health and what ever he wants to do in the future. And Mr Congressman, I am up for any parties you want to have... Mendon is just right up the road from Corning!
