Today In Gay.

Some of this is not so much "today" , so more of a "this week"
in gay.

1.) Our Nations Capital started with the same sex MARRIAGES this week with really barley a ripple in the news, other than a whopping TWELVE people canceling their subscriptions to the Washington Post for running a picture of two elfish men kissing ever so gingerly post their nups, not much was said or done. A very under reported story is the JOBS and CASH that said GAY MARRIAGE will bring to the DC area. " 700 jobs and 52.2 million over the next few years" Happy times down in DC. Also, MEXICO CITY - how queer is that?.. COME ON U.S.A., really?

2.) Hornets nest in MISSISSIPPI : A picture being worth 1000s words and all, just watch the video. I joined the faceybook group. You should too, you can hide it, or drop out in a few days, but lets get the numbers up on it. And really, Mississippi, banning folks from the prom for having a BLACK GAY date.. haven't we been down this road before????

3.) " Who is Larry Doby ? " - Don't know? , I did not either. He was the second African American to play in the Majors , behind Jackie Robinson. NEITHER of which, to my knowledge was gay - not that there is anything wrong with that. I only bring them up because our Episcopal Church ( ECUSA ) elected their SECOND Gay Bishop this week. It's complex; and the hard core Anglicans reading this ( and there are a surprising number that do ) will go into long LONG tales of the minutia of the process and elections, but lets just go with " this week she was elected"
Sister Mary Glasspool ! Let's all hope her name ends up just as famous and revered as Mr. Doby's . We here at the k+b wish her and her family all the best, and really, ECUSA, it is time to move on.

4.) Boys dancing in their underpants.
Does everyone remember the raid on the sleazy leatherish gay bar that Neil and I met in? Well, van loads of riot gear loaded cops came a blazing into the bar back on September 10th ,confusing all the patrons , because riot gear night , is every other Tuesday . Forcing these guys at gun point to lie on the floor, as I said at the time, I am not sure which road I would have taken, shot or the Eagle floor....
ANYWAY, the case came to trial yesterday, March 11, and the Judge " found three defendants in the Atlanta Eagle gay bar case not guilty Thursday, and the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the charges against the other five defendants." BIG WIN for our side. The whole thing was VERY un- Atlanta Police and come on, its MIDTOWN. Now come the civil cases. Not over by a long shot.
Read the whole story in the AJC and on JMG.

5.) Target debuts their LIBERTY OF LONDON line.
I once , 1000 years ago, paid a fortune (for me), for a LIBERTY OF LONDON tie, that I still have, making me all the cool. Now everyone gets to be all Springy and floral.... a little bit not right, and I am off to shop!
