Cold and Grey, The Democrat and Chronicle sucks, and not in a good way.

REDWINGS DEFEAT PAWTUCKET
in season opener!

Yeah, baseball is back! We survived yet another Upstate New York winter in tack, sort of. Break out the knives and cat calls folks, Kyle and Neil spent opening day of 2010 in Mendon. Yes, we have gone fair weather. Cold, nasty, rainy, chance of snow flurries..... come on, cut me some slack. It's not like I have not done it in the past:
Today is no better, chilly, rainy, all wet....my new rule , too cold to drink beer OR have to wear gloves the whole game, I'm not going. Baseball is a Summer sport...
As for why our local newspaper sucks, well, one short story on opening day, one bad picture. Yes, my fault for not being there, but they could have at least done a little more. There are many many more reasons why it is is a bad newspaper..
From their one short story, we learn that OUR 2010 player, The Pride of Perth, Luke Huges was the star of yesterdays game!
" Luke Hughes is Australian born and bred, so
Saturday's November-like temperatures were hardly
a hit with the Red Wings second baseman.
"It was freezing," he said. "But it was freezing for
both teams."
The frigid man from Down Under turned into Luke
Warm in the Frontier Field opener, with three
doubles and four runs batted in as Rochester edged
the Pawtucket Red Sox 6-5.
An announced crowd of 9,159 (probably closer to
7,000) braved
temperatures that dipped to 37 by
game's end.
Hughes doubled in runs in the first, sixth and
eighth innings, the latter breaking a 5-5 tie. He also
walked with the bases loaded in the second, as
Rochester built a 3-0 lead.
"He had a big day for us, that's for sure," said first-
year manager Tom Nieto, whose club is 4-5.
