In a shocking turn of events the backward state that I call home,the butt end of New England, - the home of the ultra Conservative upper west side - strives to catch up with that bastion of liberalism, that gay-est of all states, freaking I O W A!.
A blind African American, talking about discrimination...( along with a billionaire Jewish mayor and a very Irish lesbian )...powerful stuff. ( we can really only hope the three of them later on walked into a bar....)
ALL that stands between full marriage equality in New York are a few , very few state senators. Neil sent out a huge email tonight... if you live in New York, call , write, send flowers.
I for one do not think the Governor ( who is having a hard time, but I still very much like and respect) would have done this now if the votes were not there.
