Day of Silence

Friday was National Day of Silence across the country. 

The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Each year the event has grown, now with hundreds of thousands of students coming together to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior.

(Ok, fine, let's get to the purple gorilla in the room right off the bat. Any teacher that I ever had, K-12 would have done naked backflips down the hall if I would have had a day of silence , ever... there.)

I am not sure when this started, I have been hearing about it for years, seems like very good thing to do, bring attention to this serious problem. I was as big of a homo as you could get in school... but I was also six feet tall and like 200+, and as a very small child had a MURDEROUS temper ( it went away). I was not really picked on or bullied . I also went to a very small school and was with the exact same people for 12 years. That does make a difference. I was lucky, some are not. You would think that any adult with a pulse would say how horrible this was, that this poor little boy felt so helpless and alone, that it came to this. ANYTHING that any school system can do to help ONE CHILD not go through this would be fine...

Are they PROMOTING violence against lgbt youth? No where on the planet is A DAY OF SILENCE mandatory, this add is just a bold face lie. BUT,as so called Bible thumping Christians to not advocate for the least of these should be their ultimate hypocrisy

Trust me , readers, I am as tired and as bored with all the GLBT infighting and outfighting and fal-dee-rah as anyone is, and I do not, at all, choose to play the victim card. ....But its crap like this, vile HATEFUL untrue hurtful , things like this video that keeps us going. There are WELL FUNDED groups of people in this country that see ANY advancement of the glbt human condition as flat our wrong, and they are willing to have little boys like Carl die. Bottom Line.

I'm going with brand new level of hell for the folks that made this putrid ad. Back to happier blogging....
